Interior Design: Macintosh Harris   |   Architect: Peddlethorp & Salmond Reed Architects

In the heart of Parnell, Auckland, a masterpiece of interior design has been unveiled – Pearson House. Originally designed in 1926 as a facility for blind returned WWI servicemen, this Category 1 heritage-listed building has undergone a meticulous restoration, led by the discerning eye of Macintosh Harris, showcasing the design firm’s exceptional skill in blending heritage charm with 21st-century sophistication. Led by Stewart Harris, the Macintosh Harris team drew inspiration from Pearson House’s neo-Georgian architecture, crafting a richly textured design that honours the building’s heritage.

As the ‘private club’ for residents of The Foundation Village, Pearson House offers a luxurious and engaging lifestyle, replete with amenities and activities that cater to the most discerning tastes. The beautifully restored colonnade, state-of-the-art cinema and wellbeing suite are just a few examples of the exceptional facilities on offer, each one a testament to the practice’s dedication to creating a truly exceptional living experience.
